Our Chiropractic Techniques

Our highly-effective adjusting techniques help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our clinical judgment and years of experience.

The nervous system is the master controller of our body. According to a study done in 2000, our brain perceives 3 trillion bits of information each second, but we are only consciously aware of 50 bits. When patients become consciously aware of symptoms of illness or pain then Dr. Mike knows that their overall health is being compromised.

There are two sides to the nervous system: parasympathetic (rest and digest) and sympathetic (fight or flight response). When our nervous system stays stressed many physiological consequences affect our body. Dr. Mike focuses on the autonomic functioning of the organs of the body.

Finding the True Cause

Symptoms are an effect, not a cause. It is essential to get to the cause of the symptoms: thoughts, trauma and toxins that are causing interferences in the body. Dr. Mike’s extensive training as a Certified Chiropractic Wellness Practitioner has allowed him access to a health risk assessment website database to help determine your “three T’s”: Thoughts, Traumas and Toxins. This database can take you through a step-by-step process to improve your wellness.

“The function of the nervous system is to perceive the environment and coordinate the behavior of all other cells.” This is a quote from Dr. Bruce Lipton, author of Biology of Belief. When this process has been altered due to interferences, a chiropractic adjustment will increase the nervous system’s ability to perceive and coordinate the behavior of functioning of its cells.

Why Nerves First

There are three different ways to approach adjusting a patient’s spine:

  • Muscular/postural to correct spinal curvature
  • Skeletal/segmental where X-rays are used to find small misalignments in the bones to adjust
  • Tonal that looks at the nervous system to determine in which part of the nervous system there is an interference

Torque Release Technique (TRT)

The Torque Release Technique (TRT) specifically measures where the interferences are in your nervous system. It then focuses adjustment protocol around the dural attachment areas (the covering around the spinal cord that attaches to the bone). When these areas are compromised, it can alter the entire system.

Imagine taking a towel and twisting it from both ends. Although you are only contacting the towel from the ends, what happens to the middle of the towel? It gets tighter! In other words, a change that occurred at the ends of the towels (top and bottom of spine), was experienced throughout the entire system. Going to the middle of the towel and trying to unravel it would only produce short term results, as the true cause (ends of towel/spine) were not corrected.

Dr. Mike performs gentle hands-on adjustments and also utilizes the Integrator. The Integrator fires at the same pressure each time of 8 pounds per square inch in 1/10,000 of a second — much quicker than a manual adjustment. This is a very consistent and precise adjustment that has torque incorporated in its movement. This adjustment can be performed as you relax face down on a comfortable adjustment table. The TRT is a great approach to adjusting, and it yields amazing results! Read more»
